Texas WR is a Cougar

Lamar Consolidated wide-out Jonathan Lister received some important news two weeks ago in regards to his recruitment. He received a test score that made him academically eligible and he committed soon after.
The University of Houston and Arizona State were pursuing Lister, who was a first-team, all-district selection this season, but the Cougars got their man after he visited this past weekend.

"I might be biased, but I think he was the best receiver in Houston," Lamar Consolidated coach Lydell Wilson said. "I think he will fit into the slot their and make some plays for them for years to come."
Lister (6-1, 180-pounds) had 26 catches for 838 yards, the most by a Class 4A receiver in the Greater Houston area, which played a big part in Lamar Consolidated's 10-0 regular season.
Another prospect off that undefeated team is Chris Jenkins, a utility athlete, who also made his commitment known on Monday. Jenkins (6-3, 240-pounds) played tight end, full back and defensive tackle for the Mustangs, and will be taking his services to Texas State.
"He so versatile, but I think he's best served at defensive end at the next level," Wilson said.
