Texas WR gets Iowa State offer

It was not too long ago that North Garland (Texas) High School wide receiver Hubert Anyiam was going to put away his football cleats and stop playing the sport he loved.
It wasn't that he didn't have the ability but with a roster loaded with seniors and a bright future playing high school basketball, the 6-foot, 163-pounder just wanted to concentrate on one sport. His head coach convinced him to come back which led to a great junior season.

"It paid off," Anyiam said with a laugh. "I had around 50 catches for almost 900 yards or so. I was a first-team all-district pick, so it went pretty well you could say."
His recruiting isn't going too badly either. Anyiam's first written offer is in from Iowa State but verbal offers have come from Oklahoma State, Arizona State, and Texas A&M.
"I loved getting that first offer in the mail," Anyiam said about the Cyclones. "I'm real interest in them and A&M. The coaches are real interested in me. I talked to a few of them and I like that school a lot."
The only visit planned is to Oklahoma State for a junior day trip on April 30.
"I'm just seeing what's out there right now," he said. "I don't know what will happen, but it's good so far."
