Texas WR continues talent tradition

Playing at DeSoto (Texas) High School, one of the state's top producers of Division I talent in the last several years, wide receiver Donavon Kemp knows that people expect a lot from their roster year in and year out.
The 6-foot-1, 169-pounder doesn't call it pressure. With the assistance of his experienced coaches, Kemp is turning into quite the prospect and looks to be getting some attention from college recruiters over the next several months.

"We've got good coaches that teach us how to play," Kemp said about DeSoto's staff. "They let you know that if you work hard, you can follow in the footsteps of a lot of the guys that have come through here."
Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Michigan, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and others are sending mail to the Kemp household. A group of favorites has emerged.
"I would say right now Michigan, Georgia Tech, TCU, and Notre Dame are my favorites," Kemps aid. "Michigan has sent me the most mail, but I haven't talked to their coaches yet. Notre Dame, you're talking about great academics there. TCU is just close to home."
Kemp hasn't set up the dates yet for college camps or remaining junior days, but he's trying to make it to as many as he can.
"I'm thinking about Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and LSU for camps," he said. "That's just what I'm looking at right now. Nothing is for sure yet."
If the right offer comes, Kemp says that he won't wait around. An early decision could be possible depending on what develops in his recruiting.
"Right now I'm just looking for that best offer," he said. "If I can get an offer soon that I really like, it fits me my academic standards, my parents and I talk, I'll commit."
