Texas WR close to making choice

Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider wide receiver David Nelson continues to hope to have his collegiate choice made before his senior year starts, and that may happen this month.
“I want to try and have a decision made before our two-a-days start in August,” the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Nelson said. “I am getting to be more and more comfortable with the schools I have visited and I kind of have some ideas at this point.”

Nelson wouldn’t offer any tips as to which way he is leaning, but did say things were pretty much down to two schools.
“I am really kind of high on Kansas State and Notre Dame at this point,” he said. “I’ve been to both schools and my dad has been up to Kansas State. He will be going to visit Notre Dame later this month to see things for himself and meet the coaches. He will have a lot of input into my final decision. I also want to talk to my high school coach and see what he has to say.”
A third school remains in the mix.
“It is pretty much those two, but Nebraska is still around there, too. They have the new coach and the new offense. It could be a good situation.”
As a junior, Nelson caught 56 passes for 1,078 yards and 13 touchdowns.
