Texas WR chooses Big 12 school

Toney Coleman, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver for Arlington (Texas) Mansfield has accepted the scholarship offer from the K-State coaching staff.
"He went up there and had an excellent camp is my understanding," Mansfield assistant coach Jim Mavroulis said. "He came back telling us he had committed to play for K-State."

Mavroulis had not had a chance to speak to the K-State coaches yet, but had little reason to doubt Coleman's words.
"I don't think you could come home from a camp and make up the fact that you had committed. I'm sure it is legit. From what I've gathered around here, he did have a very good camp in Manhattan."
Mavroulis feels K-State has landed a solid player and one that will help them on the field.
"Toney has tremendous ability. He's a speed receiver for us. He can get up and down the field and plays. He has all of the ability in the world. As long as he continues to work hard and improve he has the chance to be as good as any kid around in this area."
Mavroulis didn't down play the success the Wildcats have had on the field in recent years.
"They have been successful on the field for a long time. That is what makes kids want to play for you. Every kid in the country wants to be wanted by the big schools. Winning all of the games they have over the past few years didn't hurt their chances either."
