Texas WR adds second offer

North Mesquite (Texas) High School receiver Lanear Sampson found out over the last few weeks that his one offer now has been joined by another.
Duke started things off for the 6-foot, 192-pounder, but now Rice made their offer after Sampson attended their junior day. Regardless, Sampson says he's holding off on naming favorites and isn't close to a final decision just yet.

"Rice really impressed me," Sampson said about his last unofficial visit to the junior day. "The coaches were real cool and I just liked it. I don't know how to explain it, but it was just real cool down there."
Sampson says that track season has kept him from planning visits too far in advance. However, he says that for camps he would like to get up to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
In track, Sampson says that he's working hard and preparing for the regional meet in a couple of weeks. A recruiting decision will have to wait until track and summer camps are over.
"I'd like to decide probably before the season starts," he said. "If possible, I'd like to get it out of the way by then."
Sampson was a first-team all-district selection as a junior.
