Texas WR adds impressive new offer

Playing for one of the state of Texas' top teams hasn't certainly hurt the exposure that Denton Ryan receiver Phillip Jones has received. But it's his play that is gaining him the scholarship offers.
And the offers keep coming in, including a new one that he received on Monday night.

"The coaches from Tennessee called on Monday and offered me and James (Battle) a scholarship," Jones said. "I like that they want both me and James. Tennessee is a really good team."
Jones, though, has quite a few offers and lists his top teams as Iowa, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State and Tennessee. He has offers from all of the teams.
Jones, who is 5-foot-11, 165 pounds and has a 4.42 time in the 40-yard dash, has had a good season so far. He's helped Ryan to a 7-1 record with 11 touchdown receptions and 719 yards receiving.
"We want to get back to state and win another title," he said. "We did it last year and we'll do it again this year."
