Texas Tech impresses Howard

The second official visit for rising three-star linebacker Julius Howard went very well to Texas Tech and now the 6-foot, 220-pound player knows he's going to have a tough decision to make.
UTEP received his first visit but this past weekend Texas Tech joined the club receiving a visit of their own. Howard, the No. 45 rated inside linebacker in the country, enjoyed his time in Lubbock, but intends to take more trips.

"Oh it went great man, I just got off the plane," Howard said. "The trip went real well. I got to meet the defensive coordinator, the strength coach, and my recruiting coach Carlos Mainord. They were all great. They made their offer last week, so they're up at the top of my list now."
Howard says that even though the Red Raiders are up there among the top schools, he is not yet ready to name a favorite or even a top group of programs. His next trip looks like it will be to another Big 12 team.
"I think I'm going up to Kansas State on Jan. 13," Howard said. "That is pretty much set up. They've got a new coaching staff there and they said that they really liked my tape. I want to go up there and give them a look as well."
Howard is also holding offers from Baylor, Duke, and Indiana at this time among others.
