Texas Tech commit hits Big Ten country

Midland, Texas, running back Baron Batch committed to Texas Tech in May. However the recruiting process may be just starting to heat up for Batch who made an official visit to Northwestern this weekend.
"Actually I got back today," Batch said of his trip to Big Ten country. "Chicago was nice. And I liked the (Northwestern) campus."

However the weather in the Midwest may not agree with Batch.
"The people were nice (at Northwestern), but it was freezing," he said. "I don't know about that cold."
Does Batch still consider himself committed to Texas Tech?
"I'd say as of now I'm committed," he said. "Those guys (at Texas Tech) are pretty cool.
"I had to make sure it was OK for me to visit other schools before I visited Northwestern. I'm not sure who else I'll visit, but I think I'll take the other three."
When asked who else he is thinking about, Batch said, "Miami, Tennessee, Florida State, and Auburn."
The 5-foot-10 and 190 pound Batch rushed for 2005 yards and had over 350 receiving during his senior season. He scored 30 times.
Batch is the No. 31 running back prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 76 prospect in the state of Texas.
