Texas TE hotter than ever

When you’re hot, you’re hot. That’s the case for the recruitment of Colleyville (Texas) Heritage tight end J.B. Phillips. He’s gone from a little known prospect to having Big 12 teams fighting over him.

Other teams that he’s talked about are TCU and SMU, but you can tell in the excitement of his voice that he has a very special interest in the Big 12 teams.
“It’s kind of been pure randomness how Nebraska and K-State got in on me,” he said. “They both started to call me about the same time. I’ve been talking to them both on and off, but now they’re serious about me.
“They’re talking about offering me on my visit. I want to see K-State, but I want to see what it’s like when there are students there. And you have to be excited about Nebraska and Oklahoma State.”
Phillips is a three-star prospect that is ranked as the nation’s No. 47 tight end.
