Texas TE feeling Carolina Blue

Sugar Land (Texas) Austin tight end Trevor Stuart is one of the top five tight ends in the Lone Star State for the class of 2006, but up to this point that's only produced one scholarship offer. Yet, it's an offer that the 6-foot-3, 235-pound two-time all-district selection said he might not be able to refuse.
"I have one offer from North Carolina (Hal Hunter), and that's it so far," Stuart said. "I got the offer about a month or so ago, and I really like what they have to offer. It's a very good conference, and they've been recruiting me heavily.

"We're going to go visit them at the end of July. If I go out there and love it, they'll be my top team."
Could he see himself committing?
"Oh yeah," he said.
But at this point, Stuart has bigger fish to fry.
He's spending some time with his grand parents in a small town near Port Mansfield, Texas, which is near Padre Island. In between workouts, he's been spending a lot of time fishing, trying to catch trout and red snapper.
"I've been working hard and that's one way for me to get away and relax," Stuart said. "I've been working harder on getting bigger and stronger. We have a very good summer program, and I've been trying to get quicker and get my speed (4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash) down.
"I also want to be in great shape for the season."
It's a season that Stuart is looking forward to, he said.
"We lost a lot of people, but I think some teams will overlook us," he said. "I'm going to go out there and show them that I'm a leader and help the team win more games."
Stuart said he's also being actively recruited by Texas Tech, Texas State, Colorado, TCU and North Texas, schools that all called in May but have yet to offer a scholarship.
What also makes Stuart an attractive prospect is that he is a talented deep snapper and could easily be one of the best in the state. He had 10 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown as a junior in 10 games. As a sophomore he was named his district's sophomore of the year.
