Texas still chasing Nebraska pledge

Jack Stoll came off the board earlier this summer but that hasn't dissuaded the program that came in second from continuing to chase him.
The three-star tight end from Aurora (Colo.) Regis Jesuit has been hearing from Texas recently but remains fully committed to Nebraska, having set his only official visit to see the Cornhuskers in late October.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect is set to visit Nebraska for the Northwestern game the weekend of Oct. 23. He's also open to visiting the Longhorns if the chips fall into place, especially since the decision was so difficult earlier this year, but Stoll doesn't anticipate a change in decision.
IN HIS WORDS: "I'm a strong Nebraska verbal commit," Stoll told Rivals.com. "It's going to take a lot for me to get drawn away from Nebraska. Texas has stayed in contact with me and I still talk to them a little bit, but I'm a pretty hard verbal. That's the only official visit I have set.
"If another opportunity pops up, I'll look at it and evaluate it. We'll see if a visit is in the future -- I'm open to it. But I'm a strong Nebraska commit."
RIVALS' REACTION: Stoll, who is used in a variety of ways in the Regis Jesuit offense, said the Cornhuskers have been recruiting him for their Y position. Assistant coach Tavita Thompson has sold him on having his hand in the dirt a bit more and flexing him out as well, and Stoll couldn't be happier. He has never experienced the gameday atmosphere at Nebraska so once Stoll attends his first game next month, it could go a long way toward locking up his pledge for good.
