Texas sleeper getting looks

Galena Park (Texas) North Shore cornerback Mark Orphey is a member of one of the state's stingiest defense.
Against Aldine, the Mustangs gave up less than 50 yards in a lopsided 60-0 win.

"We didn't play much after halftime," Orphey said. "The game was pretty much decided."
Orphey (6-0, 190-pounds) was discovered at the LSU camp this summer in which he bought a bus ticket from Houston to attend. LSU coaches took notice and recruiting circles began spinning Orphey's name around the circuit.
The University of Cincinnati is the first to go after Orphey. The Bearcats have set up an official visit in early January for the big cover corner.
"I'm pretty open, but I'm looking forward to checking out Cincinnati," he said. "I think I'll get some more looks before mid season.
"It's hard to visit a school during the season because we are so involved in practice and film. We always go deep into the playoffs, and this year will be no different."
North Shore faces Eisenhower this Friday, and junior quarterback Darius Willis. Willis (6-2, 210-pounds) is more of a thowing quarterback, which will give Ophey more of an opportunity to show off his cover skills.
Curtis Thomas, a Kansas State-commit, did not play quarterback for Aldine, but started at safety against North Shore.
