Texas safety staying near home

Fort Bend (Texas) Austin safety Brandon Jackson took only one official visit this recruiting season, but it was enough for him to make up his mind.
“I visited North Texas the January 16th weekend,” the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Jackson said. “I committed that Monday after I got home. I just felt it was the best place for me.

“I liked the opportunity that is there for me to play. I felt comfortable around the coaches and around the players. Everything from the weekend made me feel like I was at home when I was on the campus.”
Jackson played at wide receiver most of the season, but is going to play at the safety spot for Darrell Dickey’s North Texas team.
“I want to play safety,” he said. “That was no problem at all for me. I’m looking forward to it.”
Jackson caught 52 passes for 711 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He also had two interceptions in 2003 in limited duty on defense.
