Texas safety looks to make his name

Houston (Texas) Strake Jesuit safety Steve Dildine is one of the top safeties in the midlands region. He has games against some higher rated players and is looking forward to stating his case.
"Steve opens up the season next week against Sweeney and they've got one of the top safeties in the area," Michael Dildine, Steve's father said. "Then in week two he gets to go up against another one. I think he's going to hold his own. He's from a smaller school -- a private one -- that probably hurts him."

Dildine has one scholarship offer to date. "Iowa State is the only written offer so far. A few other schools like Kentucky, Duke, Rice and Stanford all have said they'll probably offer soon."
"Over the past couple weeks the mail has picked up from Nebraska, Texas, Missouri, Kansas State, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Purdue and SMU. Both Texas and Oklahoma have both said they'll have scouts at one of the first games to watch him."
