Texas safety gives high marks to visit

Klein, Texas, four-star safety Ashton Youboty survived unscathed and returned home to Texas tonight after his visit to Columbus, Ohio. On his trip to Ohio State, he witnessed a monumental win, a bunch of cops pepper spraying fans, and a riot. He was smart enough to observe the festivities, rather than partake in them.

“I didn’t go on the field,” Youboty said. “I saw the pepper spray.”
The festivities were a boon for Ohio State. Despite a few anxious moments, the atmosphere created by the big win caused Youboty to give his trip to Columbus high marks.
“I would give it a 9,” he said. “It was everything I expected. They are in my top three. It wasn’t perfect, that is why it isn’t a 10, but it was a good game, and a good environment.”
A top three is new news. Youboty listed Penn State, Ohio State and Tennessee as his top three, with Oklahoma and Michigan rounding out a top five.
“I’m pretty sure that I’m going to Penn State or Ohio State,” Youboty said. “But Tennessee asked me for a chance. I’m going up there next weekend. I might still visit Oklahoma, but they don’t have any home games left.”
Youboty’s timetable for a decision is going to give someone an early Christmas present.
“I want to decide by Christmas,” he said. “I’m pretty sure that I will.”
Santonio Holmes, a freshman wide receiver, hosted Youboty on his trip. Youboty has already been to Penn State.
