Size and speed: Tatum is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4. 4 seconds
Honors: Tatum was an honorable mention all-state pick and a first-team all-district selection after his junior season.
Statistics: Tatum recorded 50 tackles, five quarterback sacks and five interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, he rushed for 1,281 yards and scored 18 touchdowns.
Favorite Schools: Tatum lists Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Colorado as his top schools. He has scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Iowa and Arizona State.
Skinny: While Tatum lists five schools as his top schools he clearly favors the in-state Texas Longhorns.
“Texas is my favorite school,” Tatum said. “They’re at the top. But the others, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Colorado are all right there too. But I’ve grown up in Texas, so I like them a lot.”
Tatum will get the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of some college coaches this summer.
“I’m going to Texas’ camp for sure. That one will work out. And I’m definitely going to the Nike camp over at College Station. Right now, those are the only ones I’m planning on.”
Despite putting up impressive numbers on both sides of the ball, Tatum wants to make his name known in college from the defensive side.
“I want to play defense. That is for sure. Just getting out there and being able to hit people and shut them down is fun.”
