Texas RB shows his team attitude

Cornerback Melvin Stephenson was a big part of South (Texas) Grand Prairie's big win against Denton Ryan in the first round of the playoffs and now they are on the way to the second round with big expectations.
Next up on the schedule is undefeated Plano (Texas) Senior High and Stephenson admits it will be a challenge. In his off time, he's thought a little about recruiting, but is keeping the focus squarely on the team.

"Well, our coaches say that Plano runs the ball a lot and we've got a good rush defense," Stephenson said. "If we go out there and play well, we should come out with a win."
Stephenson isn't even close to narrowing down his list that include offers from Baylor, Missouri, UTEP, and Tulsa.
"Nothing has really crossed my mind about any teams yet," Stephenson said. "I'll figure that out when the playoffs are over. Everything is really in the back of my mind right now compared to the playoffs."
"Recruiting is not the thing right now. The thing is playing with my team and not just worrying about me."
He also mentioned that his calls have gone down recently from college coaches because of their progressing season as well.
"When all this is over, I'll sit down with my parents and figure out where I'm going to visit," he said. "I really don't know yet where I want to go."
