Texas RB picks up first offer

La Porte, Texas, fullback Quentin Castille has landed his first of what he hopes to be many scholarship offers. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder said he received an offer from Northwestern recently, and with plenty of attention from major players all over the region he's sure to have more on the way.
"'m getting stuff from Oklahoma, Texas A&M, LSU, Purdue, and a lot of mail from Ole Miss, too," Castille, who rushed for 1,200 yards and 11 scores as a junior, said. "I got offered by Northwestern a little while ago, but it's not really a school I'm interested in right now. I'll probably want to be closer to home, but I want to kind of want to get away, too."

Even though it's only early April, Castille does have a favorite, or at least several favorites.
"LSU is my No. 1 right now and A&M is probably No. 2," he said. "I have to take my SAT in June to get at least an 850 and then I'm pretty sure LSU and A&M would offer me. They both seem really interested in me. I'm going to the LSU camp this summer and I'm not sure about any other camps."
Castille has visited both LSU and A&M, and both places made a nice impression on him. He was at LSU two weekends ago and was at A&M this past weekend. He's trying to get to Ole Miss also some time this spring, but might have to use one of his official visits to see Oxford.
"Some of the factors in making my decision for college will be finding a school that's not a top school, but at least ranked in the top 20," he said. "I don't really want to go to Texas, Oklahoma or USC or something. I want to go somewhere we can be kind of underdogs. And then the way their education program is and what my family thinks of the school, too.
"I haven't really thought about visits right now, but I'm looking to commit early, though. I want to get it out of the way before my senior year if I can."
