Texas RB may have found a home

Alvin (Texas) High athlete Ashton Jefferson may have found a home after a bang-up senior season.
The 6-foot-2 Jefferson rushed for over 1,500 yards and scored 14 touchdowns as the featured back on a 4-7 team.

"Everyone knew that he was getting the ball and he still had a great season," coach Jeff Dungen said. "You don't see his skill set much with kids his size. He can catch the ball out of the backfield as well. Whoever gets him is getting a steal."
Jefferson officially visited Utah State last weekend and verballed to the Aggies this week.
"I went up to Utah State and really liked it," he said. "They coaches were cool and the other players were really nice. The facilities were great also. It was a pretty long plane flight and then drive. That doesn't bother me at all. I just want to play."
While Utah State was first to strike with an offer, Oregon State is close to offering Jefferson.
"The Oregon State coaches were in here this week and saw the film," Dungen said. "They were shocked that he didn't have any offers. They are very close to offering him."
