Texas RB looking at options

It's funny where some get their first impressions.
Pasadena (Texas) Memorial running back Bo Snelson's first impression of the Naval Academy was as an alternative all-day concert in Houston. The 5-foot-8 back saw a booth for the U.S. Marines and a pull-up bar. If you did so many pull-ups you received a shirt. Snelson of course did enough and got his t-shirt, and he was put on a mailing list for the Marines.

"Bo loves all the 'The few. The Proud. The Marines' stuff," coach John Snelson said. "He started receiving mail and researched it. I told him that you can go to the Naval Academy and make a choice to go to the Marines from there. He was all excited about that and was also researching the Navy Seals. We made a call up there and they saw his tape and offered him last summer."
Snelson had another bang-up season for the Mavericks this season and was a Houston Touchdown Club Player of the Year nominee. During the season, he and his father took an official visit to Navy and was impressed with what he saw.
"I think he could make a career in the military," John Snelson said. "He's also been extended an official visit to Texas Tech in two weeks and will see if that develops into an offer. He really likes Texas Tech and they give athletes like Bo an opportunity."
Snelson was also named the Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year Selection for his production in 2008. He will also be taking an official visit to Dartmouth this weekend.
