Texas RB holds strong at one offer

San Antonio (Texas) Madison running back Devin Thomas has in hand one scholarship offer from Texas A&M, but coach Jim Streety says that more offers during the spring and summer are likely.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Thomas, picked up all-state honors this past season, is growing according to Streety. He's putting on more weight to get up from where he was this past season. Schools like Oklahoma State, Texas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma are all showing interest for Thomas according to Streety.

"I think a lot of people are looking real close at him," Streety said. "He's getting mail from just about everybody. If he's going to have a lot of scholarship offers real close, I don't know if he'll go really far off. All those schools are on his radar, but he's just got the one offer right now from Texas A&M."
"I don't think he'll be ready to do anything as far as a decision until at least after the summer. He's going to go to some mini-camps at a couple of schools and see. The kid really loves track and he's going to focus on that this spring."
Streety says that Thomas also hasn't expressed more interest in one school over the other.
"I think he's pretty open right now," Streety said about Thomas. "That's what he said the last time I talked to him. I'm just telling you what he's told me about everything."
Right now, the off-season program has been big for Thomas who's put on weight to get him to the 185 mark.
"He's put on about 10 pounds," Streety said. "He's a rock. He'll back off a little bit and he needs to because he is getting into track."
With track season underway, it doesn't look like Thomas will be attending any more junior days or unofficial visits this spring.
