Texas RB headed West

One of the top running backs in the state of Texas, Amadeus Waters, was a little confused after a big senior season as to why his recruitment seemed to be stalling without any offers on the table.
That all changed this morning, after a late offer from New Mexico came in the last few weeks, the 5-foot-10, 220-pounder made his college decision.

"I gave my verbal to New Mexico just a little bit ago," Waters said. "They were pretty much my only offer. But, it feels good and it's a weight lifted. You don't have to worry now and you can just finish off high school."
With days before signing his letter-of-intent, the two-star rated sleeper is just glad to be going to a program that he felt the most comfortable with.
"It was a great atmosphere there," Waters said. "The players were real nice. The coaches all seemed like they meshed well. The running backs coach really liked me and that was a strong incentive to go there."
Waters says that playing time is not something that has been talked about a ton, but he's planning on competing right away.
"I'm about as big as their starting running back now because I'm up to 220 pounds," he said. "I'm sure I'll get a chance to prove myself, but we just haven't spoken about the details yet."
