Texas RB grabs out-of-state offer

CYPRESS, Texas - After a solid junior season, Sugar Land (Texas) Fort Bend Austin running back Chris Wilson can now claim his first scholarship offer.
The 5-foot-11, 203-pound running back came out to the GHFCA Texas Football Combine this past weekend and performed well. One of the events he did well in was the 40-yard dash where Wilson said he came in with a 4.5-second time on his first run. He also said that he broke the ice in recruiting with his first offer.

"Central Florida came in and they're the only one so far," Wilson said about offers. "It was my first one and that was amazing. I was stressed out about getting that first one and it finally came through. It was a blessing."
Wilson had a solid junior campaign on the football field with 744 yards and seven touchdowns. His abilities have put the first offer on the table and interest coming from several other schools.
"I've been getting stuff from Boston College, Purdue, Troy, Texas A&M, and then Kansas State has sent me stuff too," Wilson said.
Though he's not close to making a decision just yet, he does have an early leader.
"Central Florida has to be the favorite because they were the first ones to offer," Wilson said. "Other than that, I can't really say anything yet without any others offering. But, right now, Central Florida is up there for me."
