Texas RB drawing attention already

Carrollton (Texas) Newman Smith running back Sterling Endsley is drawing early attention from college recruiters.
"He is getting mail from Alabama, SMU, and a lot of the Big 12 schools," Newman Smith coach Mark Copeland said. "Texas Tech and Kansas State specifically have been recruiting him quite a bit already. Nobody has offered him yet, but I think when they see more film, they will."

The 6-foot, 180-pound Endsley made a lot of progress last season according to Copeland. And that progress came in more ways than just running the ball.
"Sterling is a powerful running back," Copeland said. "He breaks tackles when he runs, he's not just falling down when they hit him. He improved his pass protection a lot last year. That was his biggest room for improvement. He was aggressive when he needed to be and not when he didn't need to be.
"Sterling also has very good hands. We use him on screens a lot. We'll probably use him out of the slot some this year, too. His hands are good enough to be catching a lot of passes and we'll probably use him that way some."
