Texas QB wants to stay under center

Southlake (Texas) Carroll quarterback Chase Daniel is out to prove he’s a quarterback at the collegiate level.
“I want to be a quarterback,” the 6-foot, 200-pound Daniel said. “I can play other positions, but I really think I can play quarterback in college. That’s the spot I’m working toward.”

Daniel has already begun to draw interest from college coaches.
“I’m getting mail from several schools right now,” he said. “I think I will get the chance at quarterback from the schools that are recruiting me. Texas A&M, Texas, Missouri, Kansas State and LSU have all been sending me the most stuff. There are some others, but right now I would say those are the main ones.
“I don’t have a favorite school at this point. I want to find a place where my talents fit the offense the school runs. It’s still early and I’ve got quite a while to learn more about the schools.”
Daniel has yet to receive any scholarship offers.
“I have been talking to the schools and I’ve been to a couple of junior days. But, so far, there haven’t been any scholarship offers. That will come as they watch the film and see me play.”
