Texas QB wants to be a QB

Irving (Texas) R.L. Turner quarterback Jamel Snell has started to get some attention from schools, now he just wants to convince them he knows what position he should play in college.
“Jamel wants to play quarterback,” Turner coach Jody Allen said. “He would probably be I-A as an athlete, but he keeps telling teams he wants to be a quarterback. That has probably kept some people from showing more interest.”

Three schools have expressed interest in the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Snell as a quarterback.
“He has gotten interest from Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette for quarterback,” Allen said. “He hasn’t gotten an offer from any of them yet, though. I think if some bigger school came in and told him they were offering him as an athlete and that was the only way they would, then he might have a change of heart, but right now he believes he can be a quarterback.”
On the season, Snell has rushed for 985 yards and six touchdowns.
