Texas QB waits for offers

There are certainly several quarterbacks in the state of Texas who could be playing at the Division I level very soon. The 6-foot-2, 198-pound Carrollton (Texas) Newman Smith signal caller Adam Jones is one of those.
The talented quarterback rushed for 794 touchdowns and 12 touchdowns while also throwing for 1,329 more and 13 scores through the air. Jones is starting to hear from schools like Rice, Kansas, Wyoming, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Arkansas but has a particular region he'd like to stay in.

"I'd say OSU is kind of like a favorite and I would really like to go to Alabama," Jones said. "Really, I'll go anywhere in the South. I'm not much of a cold weather guy."
Jones says that he hasn't been on any visits yet, but will be in Waco for a regional track meet.
"Hopefully I'll get to meet the coaches after the track meet and one of these weekends I want to go check out Rice," he said. "Those are the only ones I've thought about."
The track schedule is allowing Jones to continue working on his strength and speed. He also wants to "improve accuracy" in his throwing.
As for what he looks for in a college, the talented young man just wants a winning program.
"I can't take losing for very long," he said. "The overall atmosphere of the college is important, but I want a solid winning tradition."
