Texas QB waiting for scholarship offers

Canyon, Texas quarterback Lance McClintock is still waiting on his first scholarship offer, but he has several schools watching him as he enters his senior season.
“Things are going pretty good,” the 6-foot-3, 205-pound McClintock said. “I don’t have any scholarship offers yet, but I am getting a lot of letters from schools.”

Several schools called during the May calling period to express their interest in the dual-threat signal caller. Arizona State, TCU, UTEP, Baylor, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Tulsa phoned the McClintock household.
“My dad played in the early 80’s at Kansas State,” he said. “But they haven’t called me or expressed interest yet.
McClintock camped at TCU, SMU, Oklahoma State and and Texas A&M during the summer.
“The camps went good,” McClintock said. “I had several schools say they want to see me in action this fall before offering me a scholarship. I feel I showed them what I was capable of during the camps.”
As a junior, McClintock passed for 1,492 yards and ran for 647.
“I would call myself a dual-threat quarterback. I can run if I need to. But, I’d rather throw the ball.”
McClintock doesn’t have a time frame set for making a decision.
“It will all depend on what schools offer me and when they do it.”
