Texas QB to stay in-state

Katy, Texas, quarterback prospect Andy Dalton was sporting an offer from the UTEP Miners as his only offer for months until the TCU Horned Frogs honed in on the 6-foor-2, 180-pounder. It still seemed as though the Miners were the leader for his commitment a few weeks ago.
However, after an unofficial to visit Texas Christian this weekend, Dalton is now singing a very different tune. Perhaps, "Frog's Fight" to be exact.

"I actually committed to TCU tonight," he said. "I like the coaches a whole lot and seeing the campus last weekend just made me see how nice it is. It was just a nice place for me overall."
So what about the visit garnered a commitment from the quarterback?
"I met some of the players and they were really nice guys," he said. "I could just see myself playing with them and it was just comfortable for me to be there."
The Horned Frogs snagging a Homecoming game win against Army did little to dissuade Dalton's opinion of the unofficial visit. Dalton spoke very highly of UTEP, but it looks as if the chances for the Miners to win his commitment have passed.
"I just talked to (UTEP) earlier today," he said. "I told them I was committing to TCU, and I thanked them for everything. They just wished me luck there."
Before taking the unofficial visit to the Horned Frogs this weekend he played a little football game himself on Friday.
"The game went real well," he said. "I was 13-for-17 for 299 yards and four touchdowns. We ended up winning the game 37-3 so we played real well. I've had a good season overall."
"I plan to carry my momentum on to TCU next season."
