Texas QB ready to step into spotlight

It’s not often that you’re a backup quarterback as a junior and then become a solid Division I recruit, but that’s the case for Allen, Texas, dual-threat quarterback Casey Dick.
Dick, who is 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, was behind a senior last season and got in on the third series of the first half and the third series of the second half, along with other playing time opportunities. In that limited action, he racked up 714 yards passing and 116 yards rushing.

With the limited action, Dick still was impressive enough to earn honorable mention all-district and all-county honors.
“My scoring per series that I was in versus the total series of the game was extremely high,” Dick said. “I feel exceptionally poised in the pocket and feel like I do a good job of reading defenses.”
With the reigns behind his totally this season, Dick expects the attention from Houston, Texas Tech, SMU and TCU to become awfully serious.
“The most important thing for me will be getting a good education and having a good chance to play college football,” Dick said.
Dick plans to camp this summer at Arkansas, Texas A&M, SMU and Houston.
