Texas QB ready for decision
Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial quarterback Donovan Porterie had talked about taking an official visit to Louisiana Tech this weekend. Instead, the three-star rated signal caller made the trek on his own.
"I just went and talked to the coaches," the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Porterie said. "My coach went down there with me and he wanted me to see their offense and talk to some of the people."

While he enjoyed the trip and the talk with the coaches, Porterie has already made up his mind where he is going.
"I am about ready to commit to New Mexico," he said. "I'm not officially committed yet. I will probably get them told here in the next few days. After I do that, I will be all set to sign with them. But, I just want to give it a couple more days to be sure."
