Texas QB picks up first offer

Southlake (Texas) Carroll quarterback Chase Daniel had a remarkable junior season, establishing himself as one of Texas' top gunslingers in the Class of 2005. Now Daniel has received his first offer - could more be on the way?
The 6-1, 205 pounder had a huge 2003 season, passing for 3,681 yards and 42 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,529 yards and 17 more scores. Although Southlake Carroll fell one game short of repeating as Class 5A Division II state champions, Daniel was honored following the season as the Class 5A State Offensive Player of the Year, as well as being named a Student Sports Junior All-American.

"Recruiting has been going well for Chase," Daniel's father Bill says. "Last week he received a written offer from Missouri - we're pretty excited about getting the first one and that is certainly a program that is on the rise."
As for what schools are under consideration, Bill Daniel says his son is pretty open at this point, looking at schools like Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, SMU Colorado State, Notre Dame and many more.
The Daniels attended SMU first padded spring practice last weekend and also plan on attending Texas' spring game on April 3rd.
Tonight Daniel takes the mound for the Dragons' baseball team, where he is 3-0 so far, with 27 strikeouts in three starts.
This summer Daniel will camp at Oklahoma State, SMU, Colorado State, Texas, Texas A&M and TCU, and will also attend both the EA SPORTS Elite 11 QB Regional Workout and the NIKE Camp in College Station.
