Texas QB makes trip to Syracuse

Houston Booker T. Washington dual-threat quarterback Joseph Fields was supposed to visit Syracuse on December 5. But there was a change of plans and he made the visit this past weekend. So how did he like things up there?
“I loved it,” the three-star quarterback that is 6-foot-1 and 214 pounds said. “It was great. They showed me a great time. They showed me the academic building, and I really got along great with all of the players.”

It went so well that Fields thought about committing.
“It crossed my mind,” he said. “But I promised myself that I would take my visits before I made my decision.”
Fields is set up next to visit Tennessee on December 12 and Wisconsin on December 19. Missouri, Arkansas and Houston are also in the hunt for the final two trips.
But first things first, Fields and his teammates are set to battle Bellaire in the first round of the Texas state playoffs this weekend.
“They play together as a team,” he said. “They don’t have a lot of great athletes, but they really play hard and they’re very well coached. I think we’re just going to have to pound the ball at them and be more physical than they are. Then we can use both the run and the pass against them.”
