Texas QB loved Akron

Heading into his visit to Akron this weekend, two-star quarterback Sean Hakes of Ft. Worth Nolan Catholic said he was leaning toward MAC rival Bowling Green. But an impressive visit with the Zips changed all that.
"I went up there thinking I was going to commit to Bowling Green," Hakes, who is 6-foot-3 and 182 pounds, said. "I was completely surprised by the whole thing. It was totally unexpected."

Hakes said he was blown away by the Zips new and improved football facilities.
"They have some of the best facilities that I've seen," he said. "They have a brand new indoor football field and one of the best weight rooms. I was really surprised.
"It's going to make it a tougher decision."
Hakes will now trip to Bowling Green this upcoming weekend. He hopes to have a decision shortly after the visit.
Even though he lives in Texas, Hakes has plenty of family living in Ohio, which explains the interest in the MAC schools.
