Texas QB looking toward baseball

The Woodlands, Texas quarterback Jordan Dodson is looking at two sports. The next decision will be which sport to pursue.
"Recruiting is going okay," the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Dodson said. "I haven’t had many calls. Northwestern and Texas Tech have called. That's about it for football."

One reason for the lack of football calls is the interest the two-star rated quarterback is generating in baseball.
"It has been a lot of baseball stuff lately," he said. "I am leaning toward baseball since I have no offers in football. I have scholarship offers in baseball from Rice, Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma and Army. Rice and Baylor said I could play football if I wanted to try out for the team.
"Both schools said they didn’t recommend it because of the academic work required. It would be hard to give up a sport."
Dodson was able to take in Texas' game against New Mexico State.
"That was a good showing by Texas once they got rolling," he said. "I also think I will try to go to a Texas Tech game this fall."
Dodson's season is off to a good start with The Woodlands sitting at 2-0. Dodson has thrown for 358 yards and three touchdowns while running for two more scores in the first two games.
