Texas QB lining up visits

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial quarterback Donovan Porterie has been busy scheduling official visits and the first one is coming up next weekend.

“My first visit is next weekend is to Iowa State,” the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Porterie said. “They have been recruiting me pretty hard and are wanting me to visit, so I have scheduled it and I am looking forward to going up there.

“I also have visits scheduled with New Mexico State, Syracuse and Tulsa. I don’t remember what dates they are. They are the first three weekends in January, but I don’t remember which one is which weekend.”

Porterie has also been busy meeting coaches, both at home and at school.

“We had a couple come by the house and more by the school,” he said. “Texas State and New Mexico State came to the house. The others all have come by the school. All of the coaches have been very nice to talk to. The ones at the house had a lot of information they wanted to share with us and we tried to take it all in.”
