Texas QB keeping his options open

Houston (Texas) Washington quarterback Joseph Fields continues to keep the recruiting process wide open.
“There have been quite a few schools call,” the 6-foot-1, 214-pound Fields said. “It’s nothing really new, but the same schools are calling on a regular basis.”

The schools that have been calling include Syracuse, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Missouri, Grambling, Tennessee and Michigan.
“I am still pretty much wide open,” the No. 19 rated dual-threat quarterback said. “I just want to learn as much as I can about these schools and try and get my official visits lined up. I don’t have any lined up yet.”
However, Fields will be taking in the Houston vs. Mississippi State game this weekend.
“I’m going to Houston this Saturday to watch the game against Mississippi State. It should be a good time.”
Fields has helped lead Washington to a 2-0 record.
“We’ve been playing well,” he said. “It is a lot of fun just playing. I look forward to each game.”
Fields has put up some pretty good numbers through two games.
In the season’s first game he completed 17-of-24 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns. He followed that up with a 10-of-13 night for 255 yards and five touchdowns.
Fields isn’t going to rush his decision and will take his official visits after the season.
“I’ve promised myself I will take all of my visits before I make a decision. Those won’t come until we’re done this fall. So it will be late December or early January at the earliest before I have any kind of a decision.”
