Texas QB Jones high on Cowboys

Sugar Land (Texas) Austin quarterback Michael Jones has one school at the top of his list as he enters into his senior season of high school football.
“Nothing big has come up recently,” the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Jones said. “The last time I really got anything was a scholarship offer from Utah. Since then it has been just letters and e-mails.”

The lists of schools already having scholarship offers on the table include Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Houston, Missouri, Utah and Louisiana-Lafayette.
“If I had to choose it would be Oklahoma State,” he said. “They just look like the are perefect for me. They are good, they are nice people. They fit what I am looking for.
“I am looking for a place I am comfortable, and a place I can feel at home.”
The two-star quarterback is being recruited by the schools as a quarterback and a wide receiver.
“It doesn’t matter to me,” he said. “I want to play football. Wherever they put me. I am playing quarterback in high school, so I could do that in college.”
Jones has not been to any camps or on any unofficial visits this summer.
“I am just waiting for this fall so I can take my official visits and find the right place for me.”
Jones is eager for his senior season to get under way.
“Practice starts Monday at 3:00,” he said. “We are being predicted to finish in the top three in our district. So we should have a good season.”
