Texas QB is a true dual-threat

Junior to Watch: Joseph Fields

School: Houston (Texas) Washington
Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Fields is 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds. He has been timed at 4.60 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: As a junior, Fields threw for 1,482 yards and 15 touchdowns. He rushed fro 667 yards and 11 scores.
Honors: Fields was named district most valuable player as well as being named first-team all-state underclassmen.
Favorite Schools: Fields is receiving early interest from Arkansas, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, Boston College, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Skinny: Fields is yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but likes many of the schools expressing interest.
"I don't really have a favorite among the schools yet," Washington said. "I just want to take my time and look over everything that is out there and make the right choice."
Fields is receiving the attention from schools based on his talent as a signal caller.
"They all are talking quarterback right now," he said. "I think I showed them during the last year that I could both throw and run. And do both well. I'm excited about the upcoming season and the chance to show I can do it again."
Fields didn't hesitate long when asked who the best opponent he had faced was.
"Westbury's George Walker without a doubt. He is the best one from last year. And I'm pretty sure he'll be this year too. He's the type of receiver that you would love to have on your team. He's going to make some quarterback in college very glad he's on the field."
