Texas QB headed out of state

North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland quarterback Joe Kemp took an unofficial visit this past week and by the next day, he had made a decision.
The 6-foot-4, 212-pounder was holding two scholarship offers going into this past week from Tulane and Kansas. After visiting Tulane this past Monday, he decided not to wait much longer than 24 hours to commit.

"I committed to Tulane that Tuesday," Kemp said. "I love the coaches there, I like New Orleans, and I really had never seen all that before I went there for a visit. They spoke to me about the offense and I just liked everything about it."
Kemp, who was also hearing from schools like SMU, TCU, Nebraska, and Kansas State, says that he's not going to be going back over his original decision.
"No, I'm solid," Kemp said. "It's something that my high school coach and the coaches at Tulane believe in. Schools build recruiting classes around quarterbacks and it wouldn't look good on me if I was to change at the last minute to another school."
The talented Texas signal caller was thinking about an early graduation, but will now just leave high school at the normal time. Nonetheless, playing time seems to be something he's looking forward to.
"Well, I know that when I go there, it will be me and a couple of sophomores," Kemp said. "It's wide open you could say."
