Texas QB has one visit left

Longview, Texas quarterback Joel Armstrong came away from his second visit impressed.
"I had a real good time on my trip to SMU," the 6-foot, 170-pound Armstrong said. "It was a lot of fun hanging out with the players while I was there."

It wasn't that Armstrong had low expectations for SMU, but the school came out with a great showing.
"Coach (Phil) Bennett kept telling me how great things were there. How good the facilities were. But when I got there, I never thought they'd be that nice."
Armstrong plans a visit to Rice next weekend (Jan. 17) followed shortly by a decision.
"When I get back from Rice, I'll be able to make my decision. I'm not leaning to any school over the other."
Armstrong focused on the three schools he will have visited, TCU, SMU and Rice, because they all would give him the shot he wanted.
"I want to play quarterback. Each of these three is giving me the chance to do it."
