Texas QB has leader, new interest

One of the fastest movers up the charts in the state of Texas this football season has been Dallas Bishop Lynch quarterback Chris Phillips. Phillips, a three-star prospect, is now being recruited by some impressive programs and new teams are trying to get into the fold.
With offers from teams like Arkansas, Iowa State and Louisiana Tech already on the table, Phillips has added several more offers with a strong start on the season, which includes seven touchdown passes and 12 scores on rushes.

“My top three choices are SMU, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas,” Phillips said. “I’ve got offers from all of those guys. Louisiana Tech is leading. Coach up there is telling me that the whole staff loves my film and that means a lot to me.”
Phillips said a few new teams have also tried to jump into the fray.
“I got a new offer last week from Wyoming,” he said. “And Ohio State and Kansas State have also called. Ohio State is really far from home, so I don’t know what I’d think about them. I don’t know about Kansas State. I see them on TV and they like quarterbacks like me.”
What type of quarterback is Phillips?
“My game plan is to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball to the open receiver,” he said.
“But if the protection breaks down, I’m not afraid to break it down, tuck it and go. I don’t want people to look at me as a one-dimensional quarterback. Colleges are looking for guys that can do it all, and I think I’m pretty good at both.”
