Texas QB getting defensive looks

Carthage, Texas dual-threat quarterback Marcus Bowman is definitely popping up on new radar screens of college coaches in and around the state of Texas. The talented young man is not being looked at for just offense though and found that out when his first scholarship offer came.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is definitely picking up tons of interest since the NIKE Training Camp in College Station, Texas and a solid junior season. His first offer came but not from a Big 12 team.

"I picked up one from Arkansas actually," Bowman said. "My head coach called me in his office and told me they were offering me a scholarship. They had come by the school a while ago and they wanted highlights of me.
"I think they're recruiting me on defense for safety or outside linebacker."
As for what he'd like to play, Bowman says he would prefer to stay as a signal caller.
"Well, yeah, I want to play quarterback," he said. "I'll play though wherever they need me to."
When it comes to naming a favorite, Bowman is certainly not restricted to in-state programs.
"I like Mississippi State a lot," he said. "I just like how they've been treating me lately. I think they're in the process of offering me."
Visits are coming up to Oklahoma State for their camp at Kilgore Junior College and at TCU this summer.
