Texas QB draws national looks
The in-state teams may know about Cypress (Texas) Cy Falls dual-threat quarterback J.P. Tillman but the majority of his interest is coming from outside the Lone Star state.
With one offer from Duke, other distant schools such as Iowa State, Indiana, Iowa, and North Carolina have been actively pursuing him. His favorites are even outside the state.

"My favorites right now would be North Carolina and Marshall," Tillman said. "North Carolina has always been one of my favorites because Julius Peppers who used to play there goes to my church."
"Marshall has had just great quarterbacks like Byron Leftwich and Chad Pennington who went there."
Tillman thinks that his next offer could come from the likes of North Carolina, Indiana, or Houston. Regardless, his visits will span the nation.
"I know at the start of June I'll be going to Indiana and then I'm going to visit Duke," Tillman said. "In late July I'm going to check out North Carolina and my mom is trying to get the rest of the trips together. It should be around six total."
Three of his friends are also well-known Texas quarterbacks Sherrod Harris, Matthew Stafford, and Jevan Snead. Tillman, who speaks with many of them on a regular basis says he feels the urge to not drag out his recruitment.
"All my other friends have committed or are close," Tillman said. "I told Sherrod that I was going to wait until football starts and then make my decision."
Tillman is being recruited as a quarterback, receiver, or running back by most schools.
