Friendswood High School (Texas) quarterback Jeff Ballard has decided to stay close to home.
"No, I'm not going to get any more offers," Jeff Ballard said, "as I committed to TCU yesterday."
"The coach (TCU) made an in-home visit Monday or Tuesday. I sat down and talked to my parents and we decided it was time to make a decision. It is close to home and I have a good chance to start after red-shirting my freshman year. I like the coaches and the offensive style. It was pretty much between TCU and Iowa State and Iowa State just got their quarterback."
He made no official visits and he has been to Texas Christian on unofficial visits.
The 6-foot-1, 195 pound quarterback lead his team to a 12-1 record this past season by completing 153 passes on 272 attempts. He had 34 touchdowns and 2,637 yards and only five interceptions.
