One of the better quarterbacks that will be at the Texas Seven-on-Seven State Championship this weekend will be Friendswood, Texas, quarterback Jeff Ballard.
And Ballard has the scholarship offers to prove it.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Ballard has earned his second offer. This time the offer is from Iowa State. He also had a previous offer from TCU.
"I don't know much about Iowa State,' Ballard, who has a 4.7-second time in the 40-yard dash and a 225-pound bench press, said.
"I guess I'll have to watch them on TV this season and see more about them."
Ballard said he has done some investigating into TCU.
"I like them," Ballard said. "They are up there. I talked to their offensive coordinator, and they are going to open it up a bit this season. Plus, their offense is also a lot like ours."
Ballard said Texas, Arizona, Arizona State, West Virginia were also up on his list. But there is also a new entry into the race - Colorado.
"Colorado is really moving up my chart," Ballard said. "They just seem like they are more interested now, than they were later. I think I'm going to reciprocate the interest."
