Texas OT wants to visit the powerhouses

Junior to Watch: Timipah Ikemi
High School: Houston (Texas) Sharpstown

Position: Offensive Tackle
Size and Speed: Ikemi is 6-foot-4, 320 pounds. He ran a 5.3 second hand held time 40-yard dash on grass at the high school.
Statistics: Stats are not kept for offensive lineman though the backs rushed for 1037 yards and he only allowed one quarterback sack.
Honors: He was named second team all-district.
Strong Points: He said of his strong points, "My pass blocking and footwork." He described himself as, "An outgoing, energetic and smart player," comparing his style of play to Larry Allen of the Cowboys.
Favorite Schools: He is hearing from Notre Dame, Stanford, Kansas, Michigan, Florida, Miami, Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, New Mexico, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Colorado and Iowa.
"Iowa is recruiting the hardest and Texas Tech would be the favorite at this time."
He would like to make his official visits to (his comments follow):
1. Miami - "They won the national championship last year."
2. Nebraska - "They lost to Miami in the championship game."
3. Oregon - "They should have been in the championship game."
4. Texas - "Home state school."
5. Oklahoma - "I'd feel familiar there."
Skinny: "Distance may be a factor though I know that my parents opinion, the program, incoming recruits, practice regimen and a winning tradition will be factors."
He plans to attend camps at Texas Tech and Texas at this time.
His dream school if they offered would be Miami.
Ikemi plans to major in Computer Science or Engineering in college and has not set his sports goals for next season yet.
Ikemi named the Madison High defensive end as his toughest opposing player last season.
He benches 315 pounds, squats 500 pounds and has a 20 inch vertical leap.
He has a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and an ACT score of 17.
