Texas OL staying near home

Sugar Land (Texas) Hightower offensive center Robert Hamilton decided the fit with one school was too good to let the chance pass. He has decided to stay near home and has ended the recruiting process.
“I committed to Rice earlier this month,” the 6-foot-2, 248-pound Hamilton said. “It was a good fit all around. It is close to home and the engineering program they have is what I want to major in. They are one of the few schools that have that program offering in this area. It was just the right place for me to go.”

Hamilton hasn’t notified the other schools that were recruiting him. He also had scholarship offers from UTEP, Harvard, Cornell, Yale and TCU.
“I haven’t notified the others yet. I will as they call me. I figure the word will start to spread before long, too.”
Hamilton has scheduled his official visit to Rice for the first weekend of December.
“Rice has been recruiting me pretty hard. I toured the campus and met the coaches. I’m ready to get up there and get going. I like the style of offense they run. As an offensive lineman, I like an offense to run the ball and they do that a lot.”
