Texas OL staying near home
Tomball, Texas offensive lineman Chris Ptaszek took one official visit in December and he decided that was enough for him and he made his college choice.
"I committed to Rice right before my visit," the 6-foot-4, 287-pound Ptaszek said. "I was there the weekend of Dec. 3 for my visit. I have been interested in them since before this started. They are near home and I have liked the school.

"I liked it when I was there for my visit. I was also considering Syracuse. Both Syracuse and Rice are good academic schools. I'll have a good education when I am done with school."
The decision ended the recruiting process for Ptaszek.
"After I committed, it all kind of quit. Other schools quit calling when they found out I was going to Rice."
